☺Melissa and Michael O’Brien wish to announce the birth of their son Logan Michael on Thursday, July 1, 2010. Logan weighed 8lbs. and is 20½ inches long. He joins big sister Katie who was Is 7 and big brother Kyle who is 5. Congratulations to the O’Brien’s and also to grandpa, Everett Fitch!
We received the sad news of the death of Ed Robinson. Ed died on July 1, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jodie; daughters, Rachael Mitzner and Carol Monaghan; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Our sincerest sympathy is extended to Ed's entire family. ♥Longtime member, Emily Bollhofer, passed away on August 15, 2010. Our sympathy is extended to her entire family.
☺Congratulations to Valerie and Michael Gildes on the birth of their daughter, Kaeleigh Ann Gildea. Kaeleigh was born on August 17, 2010, weighed 6lbs. 12 oz. and is 18 1/2 inches long. Congratulations also go to proud brother Sean Keifer Gildea and Grandparents Peggy and Larry Robinson!

phone: (516) 486-8506 ext. 138 Thunderettes Bring Home the Gold. The Grace Thunderettes Show Squad won several medals at the AAU Jr. Olympics that were held in Virginia Beach August 3-6. The teams won gold and silver medals. Our soloists also won several medals ranging from gold thru copper. Elizabeth Wasek, one our senior twirlers, came home with four copper medals. The girls are looking forward to going to New Orleans for the 2011 AAU Jr Olympics. Registration for the Grace Thunderettes will be held on Saturday, Sept. 11 and Saturday, Sept 18 from 11AM-1PM in the Gym. Registration is open to all girls ages 5-18, beginner thru advanced. CHANCEL CHOIR. The Chancel Choir rehearsals will start on Thursday, September 9, 2010, at 8PM. The Chancel Choir is an Adult Choir which performs weekly during worship services from September through June. Special musical offerings are presented during the Christmas season, Lent, and Holy Week. New members are always welcome. Do you love to sing? Come join the Waldorf Choral Society! Rehearsals are every Monday evening from 8PM-10 PM at the Waldorf School on Cambridge Ave. in Garden City. Auditions will be held during the rehearsal on Monday, September 13, 2010, at 8 PM. Additional audition times may be arranged. (You need not prepare a performance piece for the audition.) Concerts for this season: Friday evening, December 3, 2010: Charpentier Midnight Mass; Saint-Saens Christmas Oratorio; Sunday afternoon, March 13, 2011: Faure Requiem and Cantique de Jean Racine; Poulenc Gloria; Saturday evening, May 21, 2011: Brahms Liebeslieder Walzer and Thompson Frostiana.
